Course objectives
Applied Mathematics (DSAM) The course aims to introduce the student to the elementary mathematical tools necessary for the mathematical formulation of solutions to some economic tasks and solving them. The subject matter comprises the basics of linear algebra, differential calculus of functions of one or more variables and integral calculus. Linear algebra introduces especially the concept of the matrix and methods of solving systems of linear equations. In differential calculus the focus is on investigating the characteristics of function of a single variable and searching extrema of functions of more variables. Integral calculus introduces the concept of the integral and its use.
