Course objectives
Sociology of Organisations (SOOR) The course follows main development trends in sociology of organisations in the 20th century. Accent is on the study of groups within an organisation, the influence of groups and organisational structures on individual behaviour of people and on the relation and co-operation models within an institution. Due to its interdisciplinary character, the course must utilise the knowledge of related subjects - psychology, management, methods of sociological research, etc. A vital part of the course is the application of the acquired terminology and attitudes of theory of organisation to an individual case study carried out in a concrete working team. Credit requirements: active participation in seminars and completion of a case study. Examination: oral.
