Course objectives
Communication in Organisations (DSKO) The course introduces different types of communication in organisations: interpersonal, group, mass communication and communication in information systems. Communication is a tool with diverse consequences in the organisation and with various objectives to meet. It may serve as a means of communication at work, it serves for building organisational relations, it may serve to achieve more effective performance in work teams. The following course shall help students to meet the basic targets of study as follows: 1. Reach the ability to distinguish communication as a means of exercising influence over colleagues in realisation of one's own intentions from communication as an independent issue of a manager's work, whose decision making depends on the amount of information. 2. Reach the ability to distinguish between different types of communication and learn the main pitfalls and possibilities of the individual types of interpersonal communication. 3. Get acquainted with some practical principles of efficient communication in different situations in life among people in working environment as well as in organisations. Examination: written test and oral.
