- Course objectives
- In the course students will learn about the development of the transformation process in the Czech Republic in the 1990s. The course consists of 13 lectures. The teachers (members of the department of economics) first describe the process from the systematic point of view and then concentrate on particular transformation problems – for example monetary and fiscal policy or privatization. The goal of the course is to give an overall view of the whole process. The course is taught in English and concluded with the written exam. At the end of the course students should be able to exercise an orientation in the development of the Czech economy during the transformation period. They acquire dispositions for better understanding of the contemporary development. They will get deeper insight into the nature of the basic economic concepts through understanding of the development of the Czech economy.

- Teaching methods
- Basic macroeconomic knowledge is a precondition for the course. Lectures are held regularly in individual weeks of a semester. The self-correcting exercises are compulsory. The students have obligation to pass them (at minimum 40 %) in defined periods after the lectures.
- Assessment methods
- The final written test is to be taken during the exam period. Any copying, recording or leaking tests, use of unauthorized tools, aids and communication devices, or other disruptions of objectivity of exams (credit tests) will be considered non-compliance with the conditions for course completion as well as a severe violation of the study rules. Consequently, the teacher will finish the exam (credit test) by awarding grade "F" in the Information System, and the Dean will initiate disciplinary proceedings that may result in study termination. Students that arrive directly at the ESF and want to sign for a course about the transformation process have obligation to choose Transformation of the Czech Economy and its Economic Policy. They CANNOT choose Economic Aspects of Transition Process (CESP). Students that have obligation to sign "Ekonomie transformace" CANNOT choose this subject.
