- Course objectives
- The course is intended for students of the specialization economic policy /economics that are registered for a thesis. The main objective of the course is to help the students (with formal and factual) process of the creation of their thesis. Concretely, the course should help the students with the following tasks:
to set goals of their thesis
to set the structure of their thesis
to avoid plagiarism
to improve student’s ability to work with literature
to deal with the methodological aspects of thesis writing
to read articles that are using mathematical and econometrical tools
to find sources for their thesis
The course consists of lectures which are given by various members of the department who deal with individual topics. - Syllabus
- 1. The fundamentals of a thesis 2. How to write a thesis 3. Setting of a goal and a structure of a thesis 4. The problem of plagiarism and principles of citations 5. Analysis of mathematical articles 6. Where to find sources for thesis and notes concerning methodology 7. Correct use of sources in writing thesis 8. Analysis of the past studies

- Assessment methods
- The teaching has a form of lectures during the semester. The credits are given by the supervisor of the particular thesis. Active participation in the seminars and individual consultations with the supervisor are necessary conditions for awarding the credits.
