- European Union and Euroregions (SDEU)
The course aims to acquaint the students with the European Union and European Community with the use of concrete information about the Union`s and Community`s profile, their institutions, content and forms of their work. The subject is divided into three thematic modules:
- European integration, the beginnings, development and present state of integration, the prospects of EU development, EU and EC institutions;
- The Association Agreement between the European Community and the Czech Republic, movement of goods, people, services and capital between EU members and the Czech Republic, EU and Central and East Europe;
- European Community`s regional policy, Euroregions, their concept and significance, their present state and functioning, development programmes. - Syllabus
- 1. Development of post-war Europe and the processes of integration.
- 2. Three basic pillars of the European Union.
- 3. Bodies and institutions of the EU and the EC.
- 4. Economic and monetary union.
- 5. Budget of the EU.
- 6. Common policies of the EU.
- 7.-8. Europe of the regions.
- 9. External relations of the EU.
- 10. The Czech Republic and EU.
- 11. Crossborder cooperation in the European Union.
- 12. The Czech Republic and crossborder cooperation.
- 13. Creation causes of the euroregions in the Czech Republic.
