- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students understand deeper a wide range of approaches to key Pubic Economics concepts (mainly efficiency). That should help them to formulate the topics and objectives of their doctoral theses better.
- Syllabus
- 1. Introduction. Compulsion and non-profitness. Economic role of the Government. Governance. Bureaucracy.
- 2. Efficiency of the Public Administration. Public x private mix.
- 3. Redistribution systems theory - prospective development of the Game theory.
- 4. Optimum - concept, approaches. Setting goals and preferences. Public Interest.
- 5. Efficiency factors. Competition within Public Sector, Performance based budgeting, Decision making specificity.

- Active participation is required: class discussions, argumentations exercises,extensive readings, e.t.c.
Topics are selected according their relevance from the point of view of "Brno´s school" (efficiency and the role of the government is emphasised). - Assessment methods
- Oral exam. Two question - general and applied ones.
