- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to build ability to - collect research data in a real and/or online environment according to the dissertation project theme - perform statistical and/or qualitative data analysis in contemporary software - interpret analytical findings in relation to the former research question - incorporate these findings into the current state of knowledge of the subject - prepare the pilot findings for publication in the format used by Social Science journals - constructively act as an opponent in discussion with other enrolled colleagues
- Learning outcomes
- Students will be able to grasp the research topic of their dissertation project in practice and to translate it into a series of very concrete steps that will ensure its realization with regard to the validity of the results. They will acquire new skills necessary to analyze and interpret research results in a journal publication based on social science standards. At the same time, they will be able to present these results to colleagues.

- During the second semester of the methodology, 4 meetings will take place, focusing on: I. Starting of pilot data collection II. and III. Statistical data analysis, qualitative data analysis, interpretation of results IV. Preparing empirical article for publication in scientific journal

- Teaching methods
- The course is designed as a block-taught with a large share of students' work on their own projects and peer feedback. Seminars will be held in six-hours blocks.
- Assessment methods
- After the second, third and fourth meeting, the student will finish position papers. They will II. Analyse the data from a pilot study III. Interpretet the results after correction of analysis IV. Summarize a draft of an expert article and provide feedback to selected colleague regarding tasks listed above.
