Course objectives
Student will learn about various instruments used mainly in science and medicine. How these instruments work and what type of data they collect and export to be processed especially by image analysis.
Syllabus
  • Principles of function of various instruments: laser, photomultiplier, CCD camera, optical fibre, magnetic resonance spectrometer, optical and electron microscopy, near-field and atomic force microscopy, mass spectroscopy, use of ultrasound in medicine, EKG and EEG, brain MRI, roentgen tomography (also known as CT) etc.
