- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students should be able to: use modern development tools (IDE, debugger, version control...); follow and use good programming practices; orient in real-world programming problems in area of student focus; create maintainable and extensible applications; find and remove bugs in programs by debugging and prevent its occurrence by systematic testing; correctly and effectively work with memory and large data sets; optimize application usage of available system resources;
- Syllabus
- Individual thematic groups (list is available in Teacher's information area) have common themes, but use practical problems from their own areas to demonstrate and practice it. Basic covered topics are:
- Introduction to area of particular thematic group
- Lifecycle of created application
- Code maintainability
- Debugging
- Work with memory
- Work with large data sets
- Systematic testing: integration and unit testing
- Robust error and exception handling
- Performance and resource optimization
- Application usability
- Literature
- Literatura dle tématické skupiny.
- Teaching methods
- In lectures, the students create programs in given area, usually one per week, finishing it as individual work. Lectures contains necessary theoretical introduction, but not more then 30 %. Remaining time is devoted to solve practical programming problems with employment of related development tools.
- Assessment methods
- During the whole semester, student will undertake 10 programming homework and one final team project including the presentation. 60 % of points are required to pass the course.
Students have to finalize programs started on seminar and submit it for evaluation. The course is ended by a team project. The classification depends on the quality of work in the seminar, quality of the submitted programs and quality of the team project. - Language of instruction
- Czech
- Further comments (probably available only in Czech)
- Study Materials
The course is taught annually.
