- Course objectives
- In this course you will have a unique opportunity to interview successful leaders from all sorts of areas of management and different companies. You will get to know what it means to "manage in reality" when it comes to product management, engineering, HR, and many other fields. You will get the insights from people who led companies through massive growth. Part of the course will be delivered by FI MUNI SSME Alumni Jakub Lajmon who started his own business. He will give you an insight of what it takes to succeed, but also what it takes to survive and get through the crisis stronger.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course students will be able to: - understand and explain the mindset that is necessary to succeed in managing people; - understand the high level picture of what it takes to manage in reality; - understand how, in reality, the work of the manager is inter-connected beyond the immediate scope of the department; - get an insight into what it takes to start and grow the business.
- Syllabus
- THE COURSE WILL BE RUN FULLY ONLINE IN FALL 2020 This is an interactive course led by Executive Coach Misa Kozinova who not only has 20 years of leadership experience in IT, but also coaches and mentors highly successful people within the field. One of them, Jakub Lajmon, FI MUNI SSME alumni, will deliver part of the course focused on what it takes to succeed with own business. Many other leaders, such as VP of Engineering and head of Product Management in kiwi.com, HR Business Partner at Konica Minolta, VP of People at Slido, will speak about their career journey, the hurdles they had to overcome and what it means to "manage in reality" from their perspective. You will have a unique chance to steer the discussion by asking questions. The students will identify the essentials for successful business management - the focus needed, and the skills in balancing customer, employee and business in ever changing environment.
