Course objectives
The course contains basic knowledge of a general connections modelling within a business reality - the so called conceptual modelling.
Syllabus
  • The organisation/enterprise data model and its role as a performance specification in projects of IS development and implementation
  • Data modeling by using relational data model end by using the Chen's ERA model
  • Logical base of DM, transparent intensional logic (TIL), episthemic base, functional approach, the sorts and the process of sortalization, function construction
  • Entity sorts, their identifying and definition, relationships and their modeling, expression of the semantics, hierarchy of supertypes and subtypes, the identity problem
  • Definability and decomposibility of attributes, information capability, binarisation theorem

Assessment methods (in Czech)
Ke zkoušce je vyžadována domácí práce -- návrh datového modelu části organizace nebo rozbor předloženého problému. Zkouška je písemná a má dvě části -- test a tvorba datového modelu vybraného dílčího problému.
