Course objectives
Current trends in the theory and the practice of database systems and database applications. Focused namely to modelling of information and knowledge, and to real commercially reachable solutions with modern approach elements and with theoretical results applications.
Syllabus
  • A collection of relatively separated lectures. The lectures will be chosen for each run of this course in such a way to cover current trends in theory and practice in database systems and their applications.
  • The theoretical part will be focused on modern trends in modeling of information and knowledge and modern tools for their retrieval and communication.
  • The part devoted to practice will be focused on really disponible business solutions being gifted by elements of modern approach and application of theoretical results.
  • The lecturers will be from other universities and from firms that use and develop modern trends.

Předmět zakončen kolokviem. Ke kolokviu požadována esej k souhrnu přednášek s vlastními (novými) postřehy a nápady dalšího rozvoje event. výzkumu v oblasti databázových technologií a jejich aplikací.
