- Course objectives
- The lecture is overseen by the supervisor, concrete themes selected after consultation with other researchers from the Sitola Laboratory. The objective of this lecture is to connect student's individual research activity with a wider context of general research in the area of computer networks. Individual themes will target important areas of actual research, specifically on protocols (at different levels of the ISO OSI model, from optical layer to application oriented protocols) and networks as large scale distributed systems (coordination of distributed resources, planning and scheduling in distributed environment etc.). Students will work independently on concrete themes that will be selected after consultation with the supervisor and specific researcher from the Sitola Laboratory. Regular consultations will be available for students. The themes will be selected to support team work and collaboration, students will at least partially join the larger formally constituted research teams working on national and international research projects (e.g. EU research projects or networks of excellence).
- Syllabus
- The specific subjects will be adjusted to the individually selected theme, as is appropriate for this kind of lecture-seminary.
