- Course objectives
- The seminar deals with ethically motivated applications of the computer science, especially with supporting visually impaired people. The main goal is to present the state of the art of the assistive technolohies and to outline the future challenges and possibilities.
- Syllabus
- Ethically motivated applications are the main topic of this working seminary. The central theme is supporting visually impaired people. Some typical issues are as follows:
- Information systems for visually impaired people.
- Orientation of blind people.
- Obstacle detection.
- Internet, WWW.
- Computer games for blind people.
- Applications of isolated word recognition.
- Applications of speech synthesis.
- Support of informatics studium for visually impaired.
- Applications of ASR.
- Work on a phonetical corpus.
- And other topics - all ideas of students are welcomed.

- It is assumed that the students will be participate actively on the seminar program. The course can be passed by credit or colloqium. The more detailed information about the requirements for obtaining credit or colloqiun are given on the beginning of the seminar.
