Course objectives
The main goal of the course is to provide information on planning of services in large corporate networks based on switches. Students will obtain practical experience with switch configuration on link and network layer and the creation of VLAN networks. During the course the student will work with STP, RSTP protocols, will learn ways to backup the devices and network sources. Switch configuration for PoE, securing the wireless networks and ways to harden security of the network devices will be discussed. At the end of the course the student will be able to: know the principles of communication of large corporate networks, understand thir failures, events and typical problems. The students will have the knowledge to be able to work as administrators of corporate networks, they will know the typical models and configurations of IP phones and WLAN.
