Prerequisites
Knowledge of computer graphics algorithms (in the scope of PB009 Principles of Computer Graphics course). Basic programming skills. Creative thinking and artistic abilities are highly appreciated.

Course objectives
Students gain theoretical knowledge as well as practical skills in the area of computer-aided art. The lectures will provide a theoretical background in various topics, such as fractals or mosaics. At seminars, students will get familiar with existing SW and try to produce their own artworks. The semestral project is based on programming application for generative art.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course, students should be able to:
analyze and describe existing computer-aided artworks;
use existing software tool to create computer-aided art artefacts;
design and implement software tools for computer-aided art.

Teaching methods
Lectures, seminars, homework = artworks, individual semestral project.
Assessment methods
Mandatory active participation at seminars.
art-works - students have to submit at least three acceptable art-works during the semester. Evaluation is based on visual quality;
Semestral project - students have to design and implement their own application in the field of visual creativity informatics. Evaluation of the project is based on creativity, programming complexity and overall quality of submitted software.
