Course objectives
The course is geared for the students who like hiking or cycling and who are also eager to learn something interesting about the surroundings of Brno. The course brings both the improvement of fitness and the extension of the knowledge about the region where the student studies at university. Cycling is involved in the autumn term. The classes take place in the afternoon time once a week during the first 6 weeks of the term. Each of them takes 3 hours. Students have to participate in 4 of them to get the credit. In the spring term the sport is organised as 5 one-day hiking excursions around Brno and other interesting places in Southern Moravia. The excursions take place on 6 Saturdays in April and May and each of them takes 6-8 hours. Students have to participate in 3 of them to get the credit. Particular terms will be specified before the term starts and will be sent over common mail to the registered students.

  • Excursions on bikes: Travel plans of the particular excursions will be specified at the beginning of the term. Hiking excursions: 1. Pálava and the history of Mikulov 2. Peace Monument, Slavkov and Napoleon 3. Lednice- Valtice area 4. Veveří castle and its surroundings 5. Sightseeing of Brno

Assessment methods
Tutorial assessed with a credit The credit is given to students for the attendance of a certain quality: Students have to participate in 4 out of 6 autumn cycling excursions to get the credit. Students have to participate in 3 out of 5 spring hiking excursions to get the credit.
