- Course objectives
- At the end of this course, students should be able: to explain the fundamental mechanics laws and principles of martial arts, to synthesize these knowledges with biologicals systems knowledges earlier acquired, to apply the bases of this synergetic discipline to human motion system and to martial arts.
- Syllabus
- Definition of biomechanics, importace, history. Physical base of biomechanics of martial arts: Kinematics - distance, velocity, acceleration, straight motion, accelerated motion, cirgular motion, motions in field of gravity of Earth, describing motion with graphs. Dynamics: force, Newton's Laws, effects of force, deformations, momentum and its conservation, impulse, centripetal force, inertial force, D'Alambert's Principle. Mechanics of rigid body: moment of force, principle of moments, centre of gravity, equilibrium positions, statics, frictional force, air resistance force, inclined plane, lever systems. Mechanical energy, work, power, conservation of energy. Forensic biomechanics. Biological base of biomechanics of martial arts: mechanics load and deformation of tissues.
