- Course objectives
- The aim of the subject is to acquaint students with nutritional recommendations for the average healthy population and for the population with an increased physical load. To get acquainted with the basic components of human nutrition, their importance, sources, benefits and physiological effects. The course further aims to introduce the field of sports nutrition and supplements. Furthermore, to disprove some of the nutritional myths. Understand the role of water and drinking in human nutrition.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course, students will be able:
- to understand the basic concepts of nutrition
- to identify the differences in the recommendations between average population and athletes
- to explain the importance of nutrition for the human organism
- to identify problems caused by inadequate or inappropriate nutrition
- to orient in the field of supplements
- to distinguish appropriate and inappropriate nutritional recommendations
