Course objectives
Demonstration and training of downhill skiing and cross-country skiing techniques, development of pedagogical and didactic skills, strengthening of personal and professional competences, including safety and crisis management, needed for the organization and management of sports activities training in winter conditions.
Learning outcomes
After successfully completing the course, the student will be able to:
1. describe and demonstrate skills in downhill and cross-country skiing
- demonstrate basic skiing skills needed for teaching and safe, effective management of sports activities especially in downhill and cross-country skiing
- individually assess the appropriateness of the selection of preparatory exercises for a specific individual
- analyze errors in the technique of downhill and cross-country skiing
- choose suitable exercises and drills for correcting errors in downhill and cross-country skiing technique
2. Demonstrate pedagogical and didactic skills:
- demonstrate knowledge and competence for effective management and organization of sports activities in winter conditions, including working with individuals and groups
- adapt teaching to different levels of physical fitness, skiing skills and age categories of learners
3. Security and crisis management:
- describe, identify and minimize the risks associated with skiing and other winter sports
- demonstrate knowledge of the basic safety principles of sports activities in winter conditions, decision-making in crisis situations, teamwork and leadership
- distinguish between appropriate and inappropriate ski equipment and gear

  • 2. Didactics of downhill skiing with a focus on the child population and new trends in downhill skiing:
  • arch in the plough
  • arc from the return of higher skis
  • basic parallel arch
  • 3. Didactics of cross-country skiing (classical cross-country disciplines and skating):
  • alternating two-stroke running
  • simultaneous one-time running
  • double-sided two-stroke skating
  • two-sided simultaneous skating
  • alternate skating
  • plain skating
  • safety in the mountains
  • ski equipment
  • 4. Principles of organizing a ski course and trip with focus on sports activities in winter conditions:
  • planning a route suitable for a selected group of learners
  • the basics of orientation in the field
  • taking into account the weather forecast and natural conditions
  • security management (escape route, transport of the wounded, calling for help, etc.)
  • basics of first aid (hypothermia, injury, etc.)
  • organization and management of the program between practical training

Signing up for the course package and paying for it in the shopping center will take place in the second half of October - the first half of November, while the amount for the course will be approximately CZK 9,000.
