Course objectives
Motoric activities of the physically disabled aim at contributing to continuous, systematic and active adjusting to the specific life with a disability. Active participation in sport and physical activities helps the students with physical disabilities to develop their motoric abilities and increase their physical conditions, furthermore it helps their adapting to their specific situation and gives a chance for self-realization within the possible boundaries. The course concentrates particularly on developing motoric activity of students with the celebral pulsy diagnosis, on developing their motoric abilities, physical condition but also other elements of the human personality. Some traditional and special aids and tools designed for psycho-motoric development are used during the course. The course content is based on the functions which present limits to the celebral pulsy patients' life in the areas of social communication and success at school: development of balance, strenghtening the postular muscles, developing endurance and space orientation, concentration, communication and competitiveness, cooperation, aspiration and increasing self-confidence.
Syllabus
  • Throughout the course students try out various streching and relaxing exercises with or without tools and practice various skills such as walking, manipulation with objects in dependence on their individual needs.

Assessment methods
Activity and cooperation during the lesson, credits for attendance and a seminar paper. Absence allowed: 1x without apology, 2x with apology (substantiate with relevant documents), 3x absence substitued during exam period. 75% presence on lessons is required for successful completition of the course.
