Course objectives
The subject is based on previous study of Kinesiology, Algesiology and derived Techniques of Diagnostics and Therapy 5 and further focuses on integration of previous knowledge into the context of motor ontogenesis and global movement patterns. The main aim is to apprehend kinesiology relations in between local and remote motor segments as well as chains of motor pathology incl. viscerovertebral relations. Final part of the 6 term study subject aims at holistic understanding of the motor system. It leads to deep understanding of foundation principles of particular examination and therapy techniques.
Learning outcomes
Successful completion of the subject guarantees student's ability to:
- understand kinesiology relations within whole human body
- understand principles of special examination and therapy techniques.
- diagnose pathology, select appropriate treatment modality, execute treatment within subject extent.
- students will also be able to educate patients incl. instructions on self-therapy.
- the study of this subject prepares students to clinical activities with patients, that encompasses full spectrum of physiotherapy branch.

Teaching methods
Students will be exposed to the subject in a form of a lecture that will be followed by practical seminar. These seminars focus on manual techniques of examination and therapy. Students are organized in small groups. Each particular technique is first demonstrated by experienced tutors. Practical training is on peer to peer basis under close supervision of tutors and correction of precise technique.
Assessment methods
100% presence at practical seminars, presentation of case studies from previous winter practice, group work in seminars. The end of the course has a 2 parts: theory oral exam from lectures and a practical exam on skills from seminars. The final grade will be the average of these 2. completions.
Language of instruction
Czech
