- Course objectives
- The aims of the subject (part Basic gymnastics) are following:
- Familiarization with methodological and didactic procedures during warm up (without/with accompaniment of music)
- Application of joint-mobilisation exercises
- Interconnection of theoretical and practical knowledge from the area of the stretching and the strengthening and their use in individual parts of the exercise unit
- Familiarization with the Czech gymnastics terminology of physical exercises and graphic recording of the motion
The aims of the subject (part Rytmic gymnastics) are following:
master the basics of music and movement theory and be able to apply them in practice (rhythm, tempo, beat, counting time, metric impulse)
- learn the meaning of using music in movement activities and sports (development of coordination, social-emotional development, building cooperation of participants in movement activities)
- learn the importance of developing coordination and movement memory
- learn to perceive the quality of movement and learn to give feedback to others
- master basic dance elements, steps, jumps and turns and learn to create short movement sequences
- become theoretically and practically acquainted with individual types of dances (folk, country, street dance)
- learn to apply musical accompaniment to teaching or training units in individual sports and movement activities
- master the basic and more advanced technique of jumping rope exercises by musical accompaniment
- learn to compose simple movement combinations for musical accompaniment - Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course students should be able to:
- know the list of stretch and strengthen exercises for different muscles of the body
- know the correct execution of these exercises
- form and lead the warm up (without/with accompaniment of music), circuit training, final stretching
- know the correct Czech terminology of physical exercises
- able to identify individual counting times in musical accompaniment, recognize metric impulse or master beat
- be able to choose adequate musical accompaniment for the presented movement exercises
- be able to perform basic dance elements, steps, jumps, turns and use them for preparatory or other exercises
- be able to create movement combinations to the given musical accompaniment
- be able to perform basic and more advanced jumps over a rope by the music
- be able to give feedback on the exercises performed – they recognize correct and incorrect execution, they can instruct in the sense of improving movement skills
- to know other uses of musical accompaniment in movement activities (emotional and social development, use in experiential activities, development of cooperation) - Syllabus

- - complex strengthening exercises For all exercises the correct terminology of physical exercises will be applied, the function of muscle groups and the correct execution of the individual exercises explained and the problems of breathing clarified.
- Music-movement theory – what is rhythm, rhythmic ability, why is it important to develop coordination skills, including rhythmic. What is counting time and metric impulse, or master beat
- - Use of music in movement activities – music as a basis or delimitation of movement content, movement exercises according to the presented rhythm, overlap into socio-emotional development and diagnostics of the climate in the group
- - Development of coordination skills – principles and creation in pairs, trios, basics of learning movement combinations and practice of giving feedback
- - Practice of individual dance steps and step connections – approach, transformation, polka, hop step, arm movements, scissors, long jump, stag jump, cadet, waltz step. Demonstration of various methodological procedures for teaching coordination-demanding exercises and combinations
- - Rhythmic games and exercises for different age groups
- - Basic dances – waltz, polka, jive, cha-cha, street dance
- - Basic and more advanced jumps and exercises with a skipping rope – creating a group combination

pull-ups - men 10 reps, women 5 reps
push-ups - men 20 reps, women 10 reps
hanging leg raises - men 5 reps, women 3 reps
reverse plank - lifting right/left leg - holding the position for 10s each leg ~
standing forward bend, fingers on the mat - holding the position for 10 s ~
sitting with legs apart, arms raised - holding the position for 10 s ~
- active participation in classes, fulfillment of partial tasks on time and in high quality

Feedback during the semester
- active participation in classes (permitted absence - 2 hours)
- complete two partial tasks during the semester:
Create a part of a dynamic warm-up to musical accompaniment
Create a combination with a skipping rope to musical accompaniment
During the exam period, choose from two options
- movement task with your own musical accompaniment, any style, mandatory elements in IO
- Preparatory exercise for at least 3 people - preparatory exercise for a certain sport (organize, motivate, teach participants)
