- Course objectives
- The course builds on SANb1003 and SANb1004, starting where those courses left off. The aim is to introduce the development of ethnography and methodologies used in social anthropology, and to introduce selected new methods. Reflection on their relevance for the 21st century. We will try out their application together in the preliminary assignments as well as in the practical part of the lectures.
- Learning outcomes
- Introduction to new ethnographic methods, their application in research. Possibility to try out the work in the field and to design a research design with emphasis on methodology. Linking theory with methodology.
