Course objectives
The course builds on the course Publicistic genres I (ZUR 708). The aim of the course is to make students familiar with current practice and application of publicistic genres in print media. It focuses primarily on the variability and distribution of genres and their reflection. Student who completes the course will know the constitutive characteristics of particular genres and will be informed of their current developments in the context of Czech journalism. The course also makes familiar with the understanding of publicistic genres abroad.

Teaching methods
The course takes place in the form of collective and individual consultations, e-learning, and self-study. In the course of the semester, students are required to submit five written assignments (two of them publicistic). The total extent of the assignments is up to 20 pages, while they are assessed and given feedback with the help of e-learning and at consultations.
Assessment methods
To successfully complete the course, students have to submit five written assignements. Each assignement will be awarded by 50 points. In total, students can get 250 points. To pass the exam, it is necessary to get at least 170 points.
