- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students should be able to:
- identify basic information on non-governemental organisations, their importance and position;
- describe their position in the Czech society and legal system;
- analyse prerequisites of their successful functionining. - Syllabus
- Basic introductory terms. Non-governemental secrtor - its position in the national economy and its basic characteristics.
- NGO and economic theory.
- Exercise - ana analysis of a selected NGO.
- Legal forms of NGO
- Exercise - case study - establishing a new NGO
- Fundraising
- NGO and environmental education - Rezekvítek, Lipka, PAVUČINA association.
- Foundation, foundation funds. Project proposal writting, project evaluation.
- Marketing and PR of NGO sector. Internal and external communication.

- Teaching methods
- A combination of lectures, class discussions and presentation of student`s projects (in groups).
- Assessment methods
- To pass students are expected to be active in seminars, to present and defend a project and to write two essays. The final examination is in writing. The exact conditions of the point evaluation for the test and essays are published in the section “Study materials”.
