Course objectives
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with basic mechanism of the power utility sector as a logical unit in the energy secotrs of particular states including the energy policies. Topics covered include detailed analysis of coal, nuclear, and renewable sectors including economy and international political aspects. Thanks to successful completion of the course students will be able to understand the complexity of the sector as a unit, understand and analyze issues in the sector, and will be familiar with the international political aspects on the power utility sector.

Teaching methods
Lectures involve class discussions and require active participation; paper presentations improve the ability of students to summarize an issue in the field of energy security and discuss the topic in english; seminar papers improve the ability of students to analyze particular issues; readings serve to broaden and deepen the spectrum of knowledge students acquire during lectures
