Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to understand and analyse information of biological disciplines as a crosscut to relevant disciplines - ecology, synecology, population ecology, evolutionary ecology, ethology, etc.
Special attention is paied to practical aspects of nature and species conswervation.

  • History of the discipline.
  • Organism and environment, ecological factors, valency, adaptation.
  • Abiotic factors.
  • Biotic factors.
  • Biogeography.
  • Population, dispersion, structure.
  • Migration.
  • Biocenosis, structure, properties.
  • Biocenosis, dynamics.
  • Ekosystem.
  • Ecological aspects of nature conservation, Biological conservation.

Teaching methods
The course is based on lectures and individual work with the study recourses.
Assessment methods
Final examination: seminar essay of 2-3 pages. Written test - 20 questions, to pass student must have 50 percent correct answers.
