Course objectives
At the end of this course the student should be able to understand and explain concepts and principles of basic directions of architecture of the 20th century in Europe and the USA. Based on the acquired knowledge should be able to realize the environmental context of architecture and urbanism, and will be able to perceive structures that make everyday human environment (example: the city of Brno).

Teaching methods
The teaching methods include lectures, student presentations and discussion, individual work with study resources and field trip with commentary.
Assessment methods
For successful completion of this course is required at least 60% attendance at lessons, oral presentation, and successful handling of the final test.
