- Course objectives
- Main objectives can be summarized as follows: - to understand the basic of methodology of security and strategic studies(qualitative and quantitative reserach). - to learn the history of methodology of security and strategic studies. - to analyze main approaches, methods, techniques etc.
- Syllabus
- The course is organized as a series of weekly topics which include lectures, required reading, and smoe required videos and tohe multimedia. The weekly topics includes: 1. Introduction to the subject, what is (and what is not) Science 2. Research in the social sciences I.- what to expect from the research and what not, research ethics 3. Research in the social sciences II.- research design 4. Research in the social sciences III.- research question, the critical study of the literature, theories and concepts, operationalization 5. Research in the social sciences IV.- data collection techniques, statistical inference 6. Comparative Method 7. Analytical framework of the security in the terms of SSS 8. Prognostics in the SSS 9. Seminar I 10: Serminar II 11. Seminar III 12. Seminar IV 13. Exam

- Students are expectet to read the assigned literature before class and to attend every lecture. Students will receve a final letter grade (A-F) for the semester based on the following components: - final exam - 40 points. - essay - 20 points
