- Course objectives
- At the end of this course, students should be able to: - to understand the basic of youth subcultures (hippis, punk, skinheads etc.), - to learn the history of reserach of youth subcultures, - to analyze the impact of youth subcultures, - to understand the theories about research of youth subculures (Chicago school, Frankfurt School, the Centre for Contemporary Cultural Studies etc.).

- 1. Introduction. 2. The fundamental terms (culture, subculture, youth subcultures). 3. Typology of youth subcultures. 4. Theories and approaches to the research of youth subcultures. 5. Hippies. 6. Skinheads (film projection). 7. Mid-term exam. 8. Punk, HC. 9. Metal (heavy, death, thrash, black) 10. Graffiti 11. Football hooliganism. 12. Techno, hip-hop, dance-scene. 13. Risks aspects of youth subcultures. 14. Discussion. Final-exam.

- Lectures, class discussion, film projection.
- Assessment methods
- Students are expected to attend every seminar meeting and participate actively in class. Students receive a final letter grade (A-Fú form the semester based on the following components: 33 % - Mid-term exam. 66 % - Final exam. Students have to work out seminary papers (!).
