- Your overall score will consist of a mark composed from:
1) Continuous work (40%)
2) Written exam - didactic test (40%)
3) Written exam - translation (30%)
Continuous work throughout the semester will be tested and comprises 40% of the final mark. The written exam at the end of the semester consists of two parts. The first one is a didactic test (40% of final mark) with closed-ended questions (multiple choice, cloze text, explain in one sentence, translate into English). The other part is a translation of an approximately 250-word text from English into Czech(30% of the final mark). The translation will be marked upon its accuracy and terminological adherence to the original.
The passing limit is 70% with the minimal score for each assignment at 60%. Should you not pass this limit in the continuous work, you will not be allowed to sit the exam.
You are allowed to retake the written part twice.
You can miss two classes altogether (the first class of the semester does not count). However, you are expected to always come prepared, i.e. have your homework and/or text analysis ready. Unprepared attendance will be marked as a missed class.
