Course objectives
The aim of the course is to provide the students with the knowledge of the role the EU plays in the world. The course starts with historical and institutional introduction. What then follows are lectures on relations with other actors within the global ambience, such as the United States, Russia or China. Relations with developing regions, such as Latin America, Africa and large part of Asia, will also be covered. Specific lectures on the role the EU plays in global security, economics or the environmental debate will also be included.

Student can identify main weaknesess and opportunities of EU foreign policy
Student will be able to explain components of EU foreign policy

Teaching methods
The course will be based on lectures. The students will have to submit a paper on EU external relations.
Assessment methods
The students will have to pass written text and will have to write a paper. Points will be awarded for both activities and the overall score will determine the final mark.
