Prerequisites
! SPP101 Introduction to SPSP
The subject offers groundwork to studying the other subjects of social work occupation, especially to sujects of theories and methods of social work and ethics in social work. The subject offers notion on mutual interdependence of individual subjects included into the programme (theories and methods of social work, ethics in social work, social policy, social legislation, problems of minority groups, social deviation, psychosicla aspects of helth and sickness, research methodology etc.) in terms of definition and identity of social work.

Course objectives
Students 1/ become known with the notion and core concepts of the profession "interactions between people and social environment", "micro, mezo, and macro interactions", "object", "livign situation", "social work institutionalizationts", 2/ practising in application of above mantionwed concepts in reflecting specific case.
Learning outcomes
On successful completion of the course student should be able to interpret clients living circumstances in terms of “interactions between people and their social environment" and "living situation”, to distinguish between “questions on the client’s living situation” and “questions on helping intervention”, construing his or her own socvial worker role in the context of specific case, and to distighuish between "modern" and "postmodern" institutionalization of social work.

Teaching methods
The learning outcomes of the course will be attained by means of following teaching methods: 1. lectures, 3. reading, 2. writing an essay, 3. group consultations concerning writing essay.
Assessment methods
The course is completed by exam which consists in elaborating the essay on: „The selected client’s living situation in terms of the theory, the social worker as well as social policy maker discourses”. Essay is assessed in terms of following abilities of student: 1. interpreting the selected client’s living circumstances in terms of the “living situation” concept, 2. distinguishing “questions on the selected client’s living situation” and “questions on helping intervention”, 3. identify similarities and differences between discourses of two actors of helping intervention in living situation of the selected client – his or her social worker and relevant social policy maker.
