- Course objectives
- The course acquaints students of the bachelor studies with the basic background and most important points of the Jewish-Arab and Israeli-Palestine conflict from the beginning of the 20th century to the present. On successful completion of the course, students will be able to understand the complex issue of the Jewish-Arab and Israeli-Palestine conflict in detail, in particular to explain the dawn of the conflict; to identify particular phases of the conflict; to interpret the peace process of the 1990s and to characterize current situation. Last but not least, students will get an opportunity to further develop their analytical skills.

- Teaching methods
- The course is taught as both lectures and seminars. Class includes documentary movies followed by a discussion. Regular attendance and active participation is expected. Readings serve to broaden and deepen the spectrum of knowledge students acquire during lectures.

- The course ends with a written exam. The requirements for the completion of the course are:
- active participation on classes
- the completion of the first written exam which is necessary for the following exam
- final exam and the elaboration of an essay - Language of instruction
