Course objectives
The aim of the course is to familiarise students with the basic journalist genres in media, both from the theoretical and practical point of view. The course also focuses on the current practice of journalistic genres (variability and distribution), including their critical reflection. Students will learn a good amount of knowledge and practical skills necessary for producing their own journalistic texts. The complexity of the course is based on the requirements of the application sphere, as elaborated in the market analysis.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be aware of the constitutive characteristics of individual genres and will be informed about the most important stages of their development in the context of Czech journalism. Students will learn the current practice of journalistic genres (variability and distribution), including their critical reflection. Students will learn a good amount of knowledge and practical skills necessary for producing individual journalist texts. After completing the course, the student will also be able to write texts using the basic genres on aprofessional level.

Specific formats and genres in radio features; 12. Specific formats and genres in TV features.

Teaching methods
Lecture is focused on genre explanation, seminar is focused on the usage of genres, the critical reflection of current journalism and assignment evaluation. Simulated practical learning from doing. Mentoring from experts. Creating a media product.
