- Course objectives
- At the end of the course the students should be able to identify possible research topics out of everyday situations (conversations, media, personal experiences) and step by step go through a project proposal, including the selection of relevant theoretical literature in which to frame the research, as well as to identify the methods which could lead to desired discoveries. Much emphasis is placed upon the praxis - in field orientation and hands on research tools and methods.
- Syllabus
- Teaching is divided in between contact lessons and field work (alternatively). Six topics will be covered: 1) identification of research topics out of everyday situations, conversation and media 2) fieldwork methods - introduction 3)ethical problems, validity, reliability of the data 4) self-reflexivity of the researcher 5) field notes - taking, writing down, analysis 6) writing up field work proposal and its presentation
