Course objectives
The goal of the course is to help students to gain orientation in the network of social services in the region Brno. Students are led to understand the organizational backround, role and limits of performance of social work in the picked organizations. Organizations are picked with regard on the future students practices. Excursions is possible to comprehend as possibility for gaining the primary informations about possible places for practices performance.

  • Presentation of representative of invited organization, who presents his organization and answers the questions (the list of invited organizations will find in organizational instructions of study materials):
  • Characteristic of organization: main objectives of organization
  • Social worker way of work in organization: main objectives and methods of work with clients
  • Social worker characteristic in organization: social worker role

Assessment methods
The course consists of two-hour seminars. On these seminars representatives of invited organizations present their organization and are ready to answer the questions of students present. Main presumption for gaining credit is participation at seminars. 90% participation is demanded from total number of seminars. For crediting individual participation is necessary to be on seminar in the whole length of its performance. Students on the base of any seminar write reflexion of organization and its function. Reflexion is done in the form of written reflection according to list of questions, which is part of detailed syllabus, which will find in the study materials of this course.
