- Course objectives
- Students will learn how to apply statistical methods to data bases using SPSS. Now previous background in statistics or mathematics is necessary. Students will learn how to perform linear regression, multinomial regression, logit, scaling and factor analysis.

- Intro lecture and lecture on Linear Regression
- Linear regression practice on computers
- Lecture on multiple regression
- Practice on multiple regression
- Lecture on Logit, ordinal logit and scaling
- Practice on scaling
- Lecture on Factor Analysis
- Practice on Factor Analysis
- Help student with computations for their papers
- Discussions of final papers

- Assessment methods
- At the end of the term students will hand in a paper that uses all of the above methods. Students will also do exercises at each computer lab meeting.
