- Course objectives
- The goal of the course is the introduction of the quantitative methods in the sphere of public policy. The course is tied to the methodological seminars that provide broader knowledge of scientific methods. The most important practical course is the ability of students to work with the statistical data as well as the statistical tool SPSS. The premise is the ability to work with the MS applications (MS Word and Excel). The successful student should be able to apply the knowledges in the social programs realization, realization of the selection research procedure and the interpretation of the results and understanding of the wider inter-relations.

- 1. Statistical data analysis Introduction – Statistics as the ladder 2. Descriptive statistics Description (central value, frequencies, cross tabs) Analysis of the false association (influence of third and other variable(s)) 3. Basics of the probability and inference Elements of probability (as the statistical grounds) Probability and inferiority 4. Statistics and public policy (and problems of the social work clients) Comparison and trends and the base of the analysis work Introduction to evaluation Introduction to CBA and CEA Introduction to benchmarking and SixSigma methodology
