- Course objectives
- The course introduces students to a sociological understanding of the social influences on cultural formations as well as to a sociological understanding of the cultural influences on social processes.
Main objectives can be summerized as follows:
to survey the literature in the sociology of culture, with an emphasis on current interpretative approaches to culture
to stimulate ideas and offer conceptual tools for empirical research in cultural sociology - Syllabus

- Identities and practices as cultural instruments.
- Institutional fields of cultural production.
- Categories, knowledge and narratives as cultural frameworks.
- The event of cultural innovation and the process of social change.
