- Course objectives
- This is a follow-up of the courses Basics of Law and Social Law. It offers the students of Magister Degree study programme a deeper insight into Labour Law and Collective Negotiation Law. The course plan respects the specialization of students in the field of Personnel Management.
- Syllabus
- I. BASICS OF LAW Basic terminology: law, the State, a legal norm, force, efficiency and scope of the legal standards, the rule of law, the legal power. The hierarchy of legal norms, legality, legal consciousness, the rule of law, justice systems, sources of law, legal systems, legal sector, legal actions (legal fact, the legal relationship, legal capacity), types of offenses, the application of the law, notaries, lawyers. II. LABOUR LAW 1. Employment and an employer: the employing procedure, announcing free positions, employing disabled citizens, employing foreigners, employing citizens of the Slovak Republic, creating jobs. 2. Admitting to employment, the emergence, types of employment 3. Duties of employees and employers, Staff Regulations 4. Changes of employment and place of employment: transfer to another job, transfer, temporary assignment to another employer, the mission, reimbursement of travel expenditure. 5. Working hours: official and shortened working hours, plans of working hours, shifts, time to rest, overtime and compensatory leave, unexcused absence. 6. Holidays: kinds, drawing, cuts. the transfer, payment of holiday 7. Barriers to work and their pay 8. Remuneration: in the business sector, the non-business sphere 9. Care for employees, social funds. 10. Terminating employment 11.Retirement procedure 12. Liability for damage: general liability of an employee, general liability of an employer III. COLLECTIVE BARGAINING 1. The powers of trade bodies: cooperation, co-deciding, review - International Labor Organization Convention No. 87/1948 on freedom of trade unions and protection of the right to organize - International Labor Organization Convention No. 98/1949 on the implementation of the principles of the right to organize and bargain collectively 2. Forms of cooperation with the employer and trade union bodies: the transfer to another work, termination of employment, the issuance of these Regulations, working hours, holidays plan, ensuring the safety and health at work. 3. Collective agreement: sealing types of commitments in the collective agreement, content disputes on the implementation 4.
