- Course objectives
- The puropose of the course is to introduce some frameworks for the decionmaking in the public sphere, especially the "policy paradox" model, introduced by D. Stone. This validity of the model in the Czech circumstances is further evaluated during the Bloc of Experts (with several Czech decisionmakers attending the classes). At the end of the course, the students should be able: to understand the very grain of the decision making process to distinguish between various strategies used in the decision-making process to enhance and in some regards re-evaluate his current wisdom about the decision making process in the Czech Rep.

- Teaching methods
- Three theoretical lectures, presentations by professionals in the sectors (6 sessions), group presentations of the projects.
- Assessment methods
- Participation at the lectures: 30%- the participation is necessary to gain quite unique information about the Policy Paradox model that is neccessary condition for the presentation. Group presentation: 70%: Policy paradox model is being applied on a current policy problem in the Czech Rep. Here the students have to prove his understanding of the underlying assumptions of the model and his ability to work with the framework in the Czech Policy settings.
