- Course objectives
- Philosophical and academic basis of the course focus on drug problem as a phenomenon, that transcends borders of one field of knowledge. It results from a theory, that represents drug problem, eventually drug addiction, as a bio-psycho-social phenomenon and multispecialty character of applied interventions originating from that. The course critically examines an offer of current services and particular interventions in broader context, namely from the perspective of not only medical treatment, but also historical, cultural, economic and of course political context. The next ambition of the course is to introduce and critically examine theories and models of the drug use and follow options, eventually limits of offered services as answers on these theories and models. Theoretical models of work with drug users in context of the latest knowledge will be intruduced to students and at the same time they will participate in practising of needed skills.
