- Course objectives
- Main objetive of the course is to provide students both elementary and more detailed knowledge of political support of political parties within the legislative bodies of countries in and outside the EU. At the end of the course, the students will better understand voting behaviour in the countires and differences between the various regions.

- Weekly schedule of lectures: 1. Intorduction to the topic, literature and requirements of the course, registration of term-paper topics. 2. Delimitation of elecoral geography as a sub-disciplin of political science, relationship with political geography, demography and other social science dispiclins. Terminology (region, political region, electoral district etc.) 3. Electoral geography of the Czech Republic.. 4. Electoral geography of Brno. 5. Electoral geography of France. 6. Electoral geography of postcommunist countries / Poland. 7. Electoral geography of Great Britan. 8. Electoral geography of Germany, Austria. 9. Electoral geography of Scandinavian countries. 10. Electoral geography of Italy. 11. Electoral geography of Russia. 12. Credit and final seminar.

- Assessment methods
- To pass the course, the student has to gain minimum of 31 points out of 100. 60 points can be gained in the written exam, 20 for the written asignment and 20 for active participation in the seminars together with a presentation of a report on a topic connected with the sub.ject of the course or an additional written essay. Grading: A: 100 – 93 B: 92 - 85 C: 84 – 77 D: 76 - 69 E: 68 - 61, F: 60 and less.
