- Course objectives
- Main objetive of the course is to provide students more detailed knowledge about hte electoral results. At the end of the course, the students will better understand and can explore the voting behaviour and spatial analysis of electoral competition in multilevel aerea. Also the students are able to use the theoretical aprooaches to elctions and create new perpectives.
- Syllabus
- Weekly schedule of lectures: 1. Intorduction to the topic, literature and requirements of the course, registration of term-paper topics. 2. Delimitation of each approaches to spatial analyse of elecoral results. 3. Election in to the Chamber of deputies and its influence in to he another electoral competition. 4. Election in to the Senat - case study of majority system in Czech environment. 5. Work group - presetation of student´s work. 6. Regional election - case study of SOE. 7. European election - problem of abstention. 8. Municipality election I. - specification of electoral system 9. Municipality election II. - double voting in one moment. 10. Gerrymandering In Czechia. 11. Work group - presentation of student´s work. 12. The new candidate list in electoral competition. 13. Credit and final seminar.

- To pass the course, the student has to gain minimum of 31 points out of 100. 60 points can be gained in the written exam, 20 for the written asignment and 20 for active participation in the seminars together with a presentation of a report on a topic connected with the sub.ject of the course or an additional written essay. Grading: A: 100 – 93 B: 92 - 85 C: 84 – 77 D: 76 - 69 E: 68 - 61, F: 60 and less.
