- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the life situation of asylum seekers, applicants for international protection, persons with subsidiary protection and other foreigners. students are also acquainted with the course of asylum procedures, legal, psychological and above all social issues that refugees and foreigners deal with. Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the subject is also to give the students the opportunity to apply the knowledge acquired by studying other subjects (social policy, social law) to the specific life situations, with which asylum seekers and foreigners meet.
- Learning outcomes
- Student after passing the subject will know how the asylum procedure is under way, what legal standards are in place will be able to orientate in specific life situations encountered by foreigners and asylum seekers will have the competencies needed to effectively promote contact between foreigners and the majority society will be able to apply the acquired knowledge and adequately address the typical contracts with which foreigners and asylum seekers turn to social workers competence

- 1. Basic concepts - Migration, International protection, Asylum 2. Historical contexts of migration 3. The situation of national minorities and groups of citizens in the territory of the Czech Republic 4. The course of the asylum procedure 5. Legal and legislative aspects of migration 6. Psychological connections of migration 7. Specific situations solved by foreigners and migrants and adequate interventions of social work in them. 8. The life situation of applicants for international protection 9.International synergies of migration, the role of UNHCR 10. Excursion to the reception center of the Ministry of the Interior
