- Course objectives
- The course introduces students to sociological interoretations of practices, institutions and discourses which constitute intersubejctive meanings in recent conditions of modernity. The first part of the course offers an overview odf basic concepts and theories in the field of sociology dealing with cultural phenomena. The second part of the course focuses on reading and discussing academic texts which analyse cultural artefacts from a sociological perspective.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course students should be able to
understand and explain sociological interpretations of the social influences on cultural formations as well as to a sociological interpretations of the cultural influences on social processes.
