- Course objectives
- Main objectives are as follows: to understand and explain general principles of financial regulation and supervision from international, European and national perspective and present main challenges of financial market law.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of the course, student should be able:
- to understand key phases in the evolution of Financial Market Law and explain main institutions of financial market law; also can recognize and explain the role of financial market law in the system of law;
- to analyze institutional architecture of financial safety net.
After the course, students will be skilled in analyzing of legal problems related to financial market law;
After the course, students will be skilled to find appropriate legal sources of International, European and domestic Financial Market Law. - Syllabus
- 1. Fundamental Principles and scope of financial market law
- 2. Evolution of financial market law
- 3. The process of Europeanization domestic market regulation
- 4. Regulatory responses to the global financial crisis: from “rules on the books” to “rules in action”
- 5. The ‘Soft Law’ Regulation and Supervision of Financial Markets
- 6. Financial Safety Net: the location of regulatory and supervisory authorities over financial markets
- 7. Legal research – challenges for Financial Market Law
